It is estimated that more than 725,000 people in the UK are affected by an eating disorder and recent research from the NHS suggests that up to 25% of those showing a sign of an eating disorder were male.
Males of any age can develop an eating disorder, and it is most likely to begin between the ages of 14-25, although it is not unusual to experience an eating disorder in middle age.
